Odawara is 30 minutes from Tokyo by bullet train (shinkansen) and is famous for Odawara Castle and fish cakes (kamaboko). Since Odawara is close to Yokohama, which is rich in seafood, Odawara has been seeing an explosion of craft beer, all of which have helped create Odawara’s beer scene. Rodeo Dog Beer Stand was opened with the hope of expanding the beer culture of the United States of America. The owner, born in Odawara and currently living in the USA, has been collaborating with breweries in Silicon Valley to serve original craft beer directly to customers in Odawara. Rodeo Dog Beer Stand is committed to quality workmanship, fresh taste, and temperature management, and is a good place at which to take a break from sightseeing in Odawara.

The best thing about this restaurant is the subscription system. You can become a monthly member just by registering online. Members can enjoy 1-pint-a-day course or you can fill your own growler with your favorite beer (regular beer service available, of course!). Easy on the wallet and a relaxed environment so that you can stop by every day. Rare, limited-time-only beer and goods are also available for members.  

Ajiwai Kaiten Sushi“ZEN” 

This is a unique sushi restaurant where you can enjoy craft beer with sushi and bistro dishes. Sushi is served on a conveyor belt system. In addition to sushi, the restaurant also serves tuna steak, lamb cutlets, ajillo of lobster, prosciutto, and more. Typically 5 kinds of craft beer from Japan and Belgium are on the menu and shochu and wine are also available. 

Suzuhiro Kamabokonosato

Suzuhiro’s kamaboko (fish cake) is carefully made with fresh fish and natural ingredients, not using preservatives or chemical seasonings. At this restaurant, you can observe the skills of craftsmen and eat kamaboko at the Kamaboko Bar, where you can taste different kinds of this specialty alongside local drinks such as craft beer (Hakone Beer), sake, ashigaru tea (Japanese tea) and white wine.

Hakone Beer is a light and refreshing beer made with natural spring water from the base of the famed Hakone mountains near Odawara. There is also a market where you can buy kamaboko as souvenirs.

Odawara Oden Honten

Oden is a collection of Japanese one-pot dishes, consisting of several ingredients such as boiled eggs, daikon, konjac and fishcakes stewed in a light flavored dashi broth. At Odawara Oden Honten, you can enjoy oden with various kinds of kamaboko in it, as well as local Hakone Beer. Garapago Racing

Just a five-minute walk from Kaisei Station (ten minutes from Odawara Station on the Odakyu Line), Garapago Racing is in a quiet residential area. They serve pintxos, prosciutto, edamame, potato salad, and more, starting at just 100 yen.

Their brewery is on the 1^st floor, and they serve eight kinds of craft beer, including both their own and other craft beers (COEDO, Kakegawa Farm Brewing, Numazu Craft, etc.) You can enjoy the mountain view from the 2^nd floor, and terrace seating allows you to experience fresh craft beer to its fullest.

GORA BREWERY ＆ GRILL

GORA BREWERY & GRILL is a stylish brewery restaurant located a 10-minute walk from Gora Station, produced by famous international chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa (Nobu) known for his fusion cuisine incorporating traditional Japanese dishes. The building with red walls looks stylish from the outside, and the inside has a relaxed atmosphere with a modern Japanese style.

A big pillar inside the restaurant is a 185-year-old cedar tree and you can enjoy views of a rock garden through the windows. This place started brewing beer in 2018 and now serves 4 kinds of original craft beer: URUSHI (Pale Ale), Hakone Kohaku (Belgian White, International Beer Cup Gold Prize Winner), Kuroobi (Stout) and Rising IPA. You can enjoy pairing beer and modern Japanese cuisine and, without a doubt, you will be amazed by how these craft beers can work with their unique dishes

Urokoki Odawara

Urokoki Odawara is on the so-called "Kamaboko Street" near Odawara Station. You can enjoy craft beer (Shonan Beer, etc.) that pairs well with kamaboko. You can also try various kinds of sake from 13 Kanagawa sake breweries. Highly recommended for sake lovers. Great place to experience sitting around a fire pit or dipping your feet in the foot bath while drinking and eating to melt away your tiredness.

Elennagosso is an all-you-can-eat restaurant located within 2 minutes’ walk from Kazamatsuri Station (10 minutes from Odawara Station via the Hakone Tozan Line). They offer more than 50 kinds of local foods such as kamaboko, fresh vegetables, and fish. Recommended for families and couples. The craft beer you can drink at this restaurant is Hakone Beer.

You can also find a satisfying dessert selection that includes cakes, pudding, and jelly, so you can enjoy the combination of sweets and craft beer. 

Café & Bar Marshmallow

Café & Bar Marshmallow is a café located just 5 minutes from Kouzu Station on foot (6 minutes from Odawara Station via the Tokaido Line). They serve casual meals such as pizza, hamburger steaks, and pasta alongside craft beer. More than 10 kinds of craft beer are always on the menu. Recommended for casual lunches or evening parties.

Aziichi Houjou

This ramen restaurant is just a 10-minute walk from Odawara Station. You can enjoy the taste of local ramen with craft beer. The soup is made from local mineral water and the fresh horse mackerel unloaded at Hayakawa Port. Toppings such as kamaboko and fresh local vegetables are added on the noodles.
